Coverage Mapping

Coverages (RF Propagation Maps)

Create, edit, reprocess, and duplicate single-tower RF coverage maps.

Create a coverage

  1. Go to Coverages → Coverages and choose New Coverage.
  2. Pick a site (or enter coordinates) and antenna height.
  3. Set RF parameters: antenna type, frequency, TX power, gain, and receive threshold.
  4. Set display options: signal colors, opacity, maximum range, and rendering quality.
  5. Enable modeling options such as Use Land Cover, Two Ray, or Viewshed as needed.
  6. Save — the coverage is queued for processing.

The map editor

The current coverage editor is a full-screen map (Coverage V2). Adjust the antenna, frequency, and land cover directly, then reprocess to see the updated footprint.

Common actions

  • Reprocess — recalculate after changing parameters.
  • Duplicate — clone a coverage as a starting point.
  • Bulk Update Wizard — change parameters across many coverages via CSV.
  • Overlays — add ASR (FAA tower) or BDC overlays to the map.
Processing time depends on range and rendering quality. The dashboard shows the current average processing time.
